City of Kingston Hasbrouck Regulator

Arold Construction was contracted by the City of Kingston in the fall of 2013 to construct a sewage flow regulation system in an existing overflow structure.  The existing structure required an upgrade due its inability to handle flows during heavy flow events.  Arold Construction set up a temporary bypass pumping system during construction handling up to 900 gallons per minute of constant flow, while the regulator installation was ongoing.  The regulator system installation consisted of a new constant flow regulator gate complete with telemetry controls which allow the treatment plant operator to monitor and adjust the gate remotely.  In addition to this, Arold Construction installed a permanent bypass system operated by means of a manually accessed slide gate in case of maintenance or emergency.  The contract amount was approximately $329,000.00 and was completed in less than two months.  Project Manager John Dowley directed the project, with Thomas Anderson handling execution and site operations.
